“We may not be responsible for how we met this world, but we are definitely responsible for how we leave it to the next generation”

What we do

We are involved in several extra-curricular activities. Many of them double as a relief program and also as livelihood training avenue for our growing children to help them acquire essential informal skills. Our farm at Mpraeso is a good example of this.

Basic Schools

We have been running one of the best basic schools in the Awutu Senya East District. And how we have 2 other branches in the Eastern Region of Ghana

Children's Home

Although our capacity isn’t that high, our boarding house caters for homeless and underprivileged children from all over Ghana

Orphanage

We have been taking care of orphans, but we took in more of them after we got fully certified as an orphanage.

Farm

Our farm at Kwahu Mpraeso has proven to be an immense resource during the lean seasons and during the pandemic. We cultivate various food items to supplement our nutritional supplies.

Street Kids Project

A few years ago, we launched a project to actually seek out and rescue basic school dropouts from the streets and to get them back to the classroom.

Teenage/Single Mothers Project

We consistently seek and support teenage mothers and single mothers out of some of the direst circumstances.

15 Years of service to humanity

What started as a solution to get neighbourhood kids off the streets of Kasoa ans back into school after their school was closed down  by its owners, has now become an award-winning basic school and home for the under privildged in Africa

Why we are different

When we started out in 2005, We struggled with retaining our children in school because the parents weren’t able to pay the Gh₵15.00 (US$2.50). We had to make the bold decision to just scrap the entire terminal fees entirely, and look to God for providence to sustain our staff and pay our bills.

So as premium as Virgin Kids is today, no child pays school fees, and its been so since 2005

From Our Volunteers

Virgin Kids is uniquely endeared in the hearts of all our volunteers.

“So happy that I got to visit my family at Virgin Kids Academy before leaving Ghana. The little ones are growing well and the school is expanding little by little with donations. Madame Comfort has a big heart full of love for everyone she meets, especially the kids. It was pure joy to hug her tight today!”

“I am truly blessed to have been fortunate enough to meet this kind-hearted, loving, outstanding woman. She has dedicated her life to providing not only the basic necessities of life (shelter, food, and water) to hundreds of kids who otherwise would not have it, but she has also given them the gift of education, which provides them with the opportunity to have a successful future, and that is the greatest gift you can give.

Not only are the kids at the school intelligent, but they are also motivated and appreciative of the opportunities given to them – something that is taken for granted in the U.S. She has also raised them to be some of the most kind, compassionate, and caring souls you’ll ever meet. To Madam and all the kids and teachers at Virgin Kids Academy: thank you for accepting me as part of your school for the past 5 weeks, and I know in my heart that we will meet again”
